Elf with Spear & Shield

So I’ve had a lot going on and have attempted to get back in with my weekly D&D gaming group. Timing hasn’t been right with a lot of personal things going on outside of gaming and hobby work. I have however gotten in touch with my buddy that hosts the weekly game. He jokingly asked about a dozen fantasy miniatures he passed on to me to paint last year. I didn’t do nearly as much painting as I had planned to so didn’t get around to these.

Since talking to him I got a better idea of what color schemes he had in mind for these. Since I have been modeling and painting more this year, I am working on his models off and on as a break from my Flames of War painting. I am hoping the bounce back and forth from dull realistic historical painting and the brighter fantasy colors will help prevent some painting burn out too!

The first model I grabbed is an elf with a spear and shield. I began painting him while traveling to eastern Pennsylvania this week. I didn’t have everything with me that I needed but I got a chance to work with some Reaper High Density paints I purchased last year but failed to work with much.

Really the only colors I worked with to this point were 3 shades of green, 3 shades of brown, and some Vallejo brown wash watered down 50/50.
